Area 88 (TV) (エリア８８)
Photojournalist Makoto Shinjou travels to Area 88, a remote airbase in the Middle Eastern kingdom of Asran, to document the mercenary pilots who fight the country's battles. Among them is Shin Kazama, a Japanese ace betrayed into military service by his former best friend, stripped of his airline career and engagement to Ryoko Tsugumo. Trapped by contract, Shin faces an impossible choice: complete three years of service, earn $1.5 million, or desert and face certain death.
