Tree in the Sun (Hidamari no Ki)
Also known as: 陽だまりの樹
The year is 1855, Edo's final chapter. Manjiro Ibutani, a talented low-ranking samurai bound by honor and justice, crosses paths with Ryoan Tezuka, a free-spirited man driven to master Western medicine. As these two men of opposing temperament navigate the violent collapse of the Tokugawa Period, their friendship becomes a bridge between Japan's dying feudal past and its modern future. Based on the true lives of Tezuka's ancestors.
