Junk Dog fights illegally in Megalo Box, a sport enhanced by mechanical Gear that amplifies fighters' speed and power, forced to throw matches for his criminal boss Nanbu until champion Yuuri defeats him with a single strike and challenges him to rise through the ranks. Taking the name Joe, he enters Megalonia,a global tournament to crown the strongest Megalo Boxer,with only three months to qualify and climb from the bottom of the fighter rankings. Driven by Nanbu's syndicate and his hunger for redemption, Joe must overcome unprecedented opponents to face Yuuri again.
