The Shadow Angels, an ancient race that once harvested human life force, awaken after 12,000 years of dormancy, resuming their assault 11 years after the Holy Genesis devastated Earth. To counter this existential threat, the military organization DEAVA deploys Aquarion, a robot requiring three pilots to merge their hearts and souls into unified consciousness. Apollo, a feral youth believed to be a reincarnated legend, becomes a pilot after the Shadow Angels capture his best friend, determined to liberate humanity from extinction and restore peace to a ravaged world.
